Seavy products are designed as per international standards to provide hassle free service to its customers.

All the Seavy products, sold in India, are warranted against any defect in manufacturing or faulty workmanship for the period mentioned below beginning from the date of purchase.

Warranty includes repairing of defective product/part/s and is void for any alterations made in product, used for commercial usage, scratches, breakages, unauthorized installations, damage due to misuse, normal wear & tear.

To avail Warranty Customer should register warranty of product within three months from date of Purchase.

Please note:

  • To avail the warranty benefits , the customer must register the product warranty with Seavy by mail or by post as mentioned on the warranty application form.
  • Installation material are not covered under warranty.
  • All accessories or installation material can be purchased at Extra cost.

  • Warranty starts from Date of Purchase and not from Date of Usage.
  • Discoloration or wear and tear of Burners / Pan Support is not covered in warranty.
  • LED/Lamps are not covered in warranty.
  • Hob Top is considered as Built-in-Hob and warranty and caution & care of the same shall be applicable.
  • In case the product can be repaired at site the parts under warranty will be changed on free of cost basis within the warranty period, subject to warranty registration is done within three months from Date of purchase.
  • If the product is installed by Seavy Authorized Service provider Visit charge will not be charged for a period of One year from Date of Purchase. Incase Un authorized Service provider has installed the product Visit Charge will be charged to customer during warranty period & after warranty period for every complaint.
  • To & Fro travel charge & other incidentals will be levied to customer if the area is out of municipal limits or in areas where Service Provider is not available.
  • Life time warranty means warranty on the kitchen hood as specified in the above chart and applicable on the parts as specified.
  • Incase Consumer uses abusive language while registering complain / or obtaining service related information with the person attending the call from service team, then in such case company will hook the call and may not entertain the call again. Incase Consumer does not allow the technician to inspect the product or gets physically or verbally abusive with the technician in such case Company shall terminate the warranty and will not entertain any further complaints from the consumer. In such incidences company shall take restrictive action against the customer.
FAQs for Warranty Policy

1. What is the procedure to obtain warranty of a product?

To obtain warranty of a product, a customer must register the product warranty with Seavy within three months from the Date of Purchase on seavy.in or by mail/post as mentioned on warranty application form. Please register online or send us an email at care@seavy.in.

 

2. What is Life Time Warranty?

Life Time Warranty means warranty on kitchen hood as mentioned in the warranty table and applicable on the parts as specified. Lifetime warranty has a specified duration as mentioned in the warranty table.

 

3. Is warranty of the product transferable?

No, the warranty is not transferable and extends to first consumer purchase only. Customer who has called Seavy service team for installation and who has registered for warranty by filling warranty application form online/offline within three months of purchase will be eligible for availing warranty benefits and will be deemed as first consumer.

 

4. What is covered under warranty and what is not covered under warranty?

This depends upon the product purchased by the customer. For detailed information refer the above table.

 

5. When does warranty becomes void?

Seavy holds utmost authority for breaching the warranty of a product in the below mentioned cases:

  1. If a product is not registered for warranty within three months of purchase.
  2. If installation of the product is not done by Seavy’s authorized person unless and until permitted by Seavy itself.
  3. Use of Non Seavy Products and accessories for installation/service etc.
  4. Unauthorized service or modification. Any fault, damage or defect arising from service, adjustment, testing, installation, maintenance, service , modification by someone other than Seavy or its authorized service centers are excluded from warranty.
  5. Any damage/fault arising due to erratic power supply, improper electrical circuit are excluded from warranty.
  6. Abusive / Wrong Behavior- Incase Consumer uses abusive language while registering complain / or obtaining service related information with the person attending the call from service team, then in such case company will hook the call and may not entertain the call again. Incase Consumer does not allow the technician to inspect the product or gets physically or verbally abusive with the technician in such case Company shall terminate the warranty and will not entertain any further complaints from the consumer. In such incidences company shall take restrictive action against the customer.
  7. Accidents as a result of following cases-
  • Non maintenance of a product like fire in kitchen hoods due to non cleaning of filters.
  • Accidents resulting from improper /incorrect installation.
  • Consumers using any cooking utensil/appliance/aids, covering the burners and touching the surface of the Hob/ Cook top are not included in warranty.
  • Non peeling off of Protective PVC film from the product resulting in fire.
  • Non maintenance of desired gap of 65cm-75cm between the kitchen hood and the cooking appliance(Hob/Cook top).
  • Any accident arising out of non understanding of user manual and set standards of using a product are excluded from warranty.

 

6. When does warranty expires?

Warranty automatically will get terminated on expiry of the time period as mentioned in the warranty table, as per the product or due to any reason as specified in the above FAQs.

 

7. Does Seavy provides service even after expiry of warranty?

Yes, we do provide service to our customers throughout the lifetime of a product. After expiry of  warranty, the services are provided on chargeable basis.

 

8. What are warranty terms and conditions if a product is purchased online?

Warranty terms & conditions remains the same irrespective of purchase source i.e online/offline.

Built in Hob/ Cook top

Cleaning & Maintenance

You can plan maintenance and cleaning based on how much you use your stove, but once a month is a pretty good rule of thumb.

For Cleaning Burners of the Gas Stove/ Hob :

  1. Ensure all burners are turned off and the stove is cool before touching.
  2. In a sink full of hot water mixed with liquid dish washing soap, soak the burners for several minutes till the existing grime can be easily wiped away.
  3. Clean the surface of the burners with a cleaning rag.
  4. A straight pin can be used to clean the holes of the burners from where the gas flames are emitted.
  5. Again rinse the burners thoroughly in hot water to rinse off any remains.
  6. Place the burners upside down on clean dry cloth till completely dry.
  7. Once completely dried, install the surface burner again on the stove.

For Cleaning Grids of the Gas Stove/ Hob:

  1. Remove the burner grids and put them aside.
  2. Mix hot water and liquid dish washing soap to make a soapy cleaning solution.
  3. Using a sponge, dipped into the cleaning solution ,clean away any grime from each of the burner grates.
  4. Use a paste of baking soda to remove difficult stains.
  5. Use a clean dry cloth to remove any excess cleaning solution.
  6. Install the burner grids to their actual spot, after finishing cleaning.

For Cleaning Surface of the Gas Stove/ Hob :

  1. Before starting cleaning, all gas burners and gas grids should be removed and kept aside.
  2. Wipe away any sort of large chunks or debris should with dry cloth.
  3. Glass cleaner or a mixture of soap and luke warm water must be sprayed on the surface of the stove.
  4. Use a soft clean cloth or sponge to remove any tough stains.
  5. Use a clean dry cloth to remove any excess cleaning solution.
  6. Finally install all the burners and grids to the original spots and your stove is ready to use.

Cautions

Some safety precautions do not depend on what type of stove you are using, it must always be pursued in order to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

  1. Make sure the kitchen area is properly vented.
  2. Must regularly check for gas leakages to avoid any kind of accident.
  3. Change battery of hob for uninterrupted usage of auto ignition every 6 months.
  4. Acid or Alkaline like vinegar , lemon juice etc should not be left on the hob/ stove.
  5. Do not wash the hob with water as it can damage the auto ignition generator.
  6. Do not attempt to dismantle the built in product.
  7. Do not use chlorine based cleaner for cleaning stove.
  8. In case of any accident, do not use water to turn off the fire instead use a fire extinguisher. 

 

Kitchen Hoods/ Chimneys

Cleaning & Maintenance

Kitchen Chimneys/ Hoods needs to be cleaned periodically to maintain a healthy kitchen environment. Regardless of how small/ large a kitchen is or what volume of food it churns out every month, over the time the stains can build up and vents can clog so cleaning is a MUST!

For Cleaning Exteriors of the Hood:

  1. Ensure removing Protective PVC film over the hood, if any before using the product.
  2. Before cleaning the kitchen hood, disconnect hood from the mains by removing the plug or disconnecting the main power supply.
  3. Exterior can be cleaned with any mild cleaning solution and luke warm water for the Stainless steel models, for cleaning the black models only water and soft cloth should be used.
  4. Hard scrubbers should not be used, this may scratch the surface of the hood.
  5. Acid based cleaning agents should be avoided.

For Cleaning Filters:

  1. Remove the filters carefully.
  2. Soak them in mild detergent and hot water for one hour. Brush with a nylon scrub brush.
  3. Rinse the filters in hot water to remove any residue and dry.
  4. Once the filters are fully dried, place them inside the hood again and it is ready to use.
  5. Frequency of cleaning the filters depends upon the usage. Heavy oily filters should be cleaned once in a week.
  6. For hoods with Auto Clean Technology , the feature should be used monthly and oil collector should be removed and cleaned with mild soap and hot water to remove all the oil.

For Cleaning Interior of the Hood:

Interiors should be cleaned by an authorized technician. Deep cleaning of the product once in an year is recommended.

Cautions

  1. Correct installation material, as provided by the company should be used to install the product.
  2. Protective (PVC) film should be peeled off before using the product.
  3. Do not pull the chord to disconnect the plug. The same should be removed properly from the socket itself.
  4. The hood must be installed exactly above the cooking appliance. Ensure the kitchen hood should be same or larger in size than the hob/cook top.
  5. Pans should not be left unattended while frying, cooking oil can catch fire.
  6. Flammable materials duct should not be used to extract air from hood.
  7. Food should not be flame under the hood. Naked flames can cause fie.
  8. In case of any doubt, seek help from authorized technician.

Kitchen Chimneys

Can a chimney work in open kitchen?

Yes, Chimney also works in open kitchens but the suction power has to be at-least 1200 m3/hr or more than that. Hood models are preferred for open kitchens over flat models.

Can chimney and exhaust fan be used simultaneously?

It’s advisable not to use both together since using an exhaust fan creates air pressure fluctuation in the kitchen thereby affecting the suction of the chimney.

How an exhaust fan is different from a kitchen chimney?

An exhaust fan can only remove smoke from your kitchen, other impurities like fumes, spices, odor , heat generated while cooking can only be removed by a kitchen chimney. A kitchen chimney helps in maintaining healthy kitchen environment and has a power of almost 14 exhaust fans.

How does a kitchen chimney works?

Kitchen chimney is an appliance that absorbs smoke, fumes from kitchen and makes kitchen clean and oil, smoke free. It is installed just above the cooking appliance. When switched “On”, it sucks all the smoke, fumes, spices etc hence making your kitchen smoke and odor free.

How far should be the cooking appliance from the chimney?

In general, most installations require a distance from 20″ to 24″ between the bottom of the hood and the cooking surface. Over a gas range, this distance should be between 24″ and 30″, unless otherwise specified. For further information, please refer to the installation manual of your model.

How much is the electricity consumption?

It depends upon the individual models. Usually ,most of the chimneys consume approx 1 unit every 3-4 hours of operation.

How to install a kitchen chimney?

A trained skilled ,authorized service personnel from the company should be called to install the chimney.

How to select the right kitchen hood?

Suction: Suction of the chimney m3/h= Volume of kitchen*Number of air changes. So if a kitchen is 4m in length, 4 m wide and 4m in height, its volume=64m3(4*4*4). Suction of kitchen hood =64*10=640 hence a chimney with suction 750m3/h should be ideal.

Size: Most kitchen chimneys are available in standard sizes of 60 cm and 90 cm. Choose the size of the chimney depending on the size of the stove and the size of the kitchen. The chimney size should be slightly larger than the size of the stove, in order to absorb the smoke much more effectively.

What is Auto Clean Technology?

Auto Clean is a technology that gives a hassle free experience of cooking and cleaning the kitchen at the same time. Dry Auto Clean, also known as Heat Auto Clean feature cleans the internal housing of the chimney through heat.’

What Is A Difference Between A Built-In-Hob And A Cook Top?

Although the two serve the same basic function, the main difference between the two is that a built-in-hob is designed to seamlessly fit on the kitchen
counter while a cook top is a freestanding appliances unit.

What should be done in case of breakage of glass?

Seavy’s cooking appliances are made up of thick toughened glass which not only looks elegant but also resist scratches, stains, impact and heat. However, if it gets broken it will be in small pieces and will remain sticking to the surface and can be replaced.

What to do in case of uneven flame emitting from burners?

Firstly check all burners are placed properly, then look for any food particles or spillage stuck in the burner. If uneven flames still experienced, contact our service team for better assistance.

What to do when knobs become hard to rotate?

With continuous usage of the product lubrication is much required so in case, you feel the knobs are hard to rotate the same shall be lubricated or can be replaced .

Who will install the appliance?

Seavy provides onsite installation service to the customers. An authorized service personnel should be called upon for installation of the product.

  • Any sort of civil work such as granite cutting & hole cutting is not included in standard installation charges and is the sole responsibility of the customer to ensure civil work is conducted prior to installation process
  • Service charges only includes the cleaning of the product & spare parts and does not include the change of spare part in any case
